Asst Wing IG - Maj Roman, Eric (IAOD)

Brief Introduction:
The Inspector General (IG) functions as the "eyes and ears" of the Wing Commander. Most of our time is spent inspecting units within California for compliance with CAP Regulations. Each Group, Squadron and Flight is inspected approximately every two years.
Some of our time is spent dealing with complaints. We receive complaints by email, phone, personal conversations, etc. Eventually the complaint needs to be written, preferable in a CAPF 30. We resolve complaints by first analyzing then assisting, transferring to a higher level IG, referring it to command, dismissing it or as a last resort doing an investigation.
Q. How can I become an Inspector General?
A. Take the online Basic Inspector General Course, contact one of the IG staff and tell them that you are interested.
Q. Can I complain about my Commander?
A. Yes. The IG assigned to analyze the complaint would depend on the Commander – National and Region Commanders get the National IG, Wing Commanders get the Regions IG, all other Commanders and members get the Wing IG.
