This year the event will be held on Saturday October 19th (noon to 4:00 pm) at our Learning Center (Byron Airport).
Similar to last year, no preparation is necessary. It will be a low-key event (just booths / tables) held at an interesting venue. We are considering adding 1-2 information sessions this year and will be adding a few more exhibitors. We will also have our flight simulator center open and several aircraft available for tours. Our core objectives for the event are as follows:
· Provide an informal forum so students and parents can meet professionals (not recruiters) involved in aviation, space, and STEM fields and learn more about their career experiences.
· Use as an outreach event to heighten awareness about the PJTF’s free, all-volunteer run programs.
· Target local middle and high schools, STEM groups / Engineering Academies, and special programs (AFJROTC, USN Sea Cadets, and CAP Cadets).
We plan to hold attendance around 400 students / parents, which is a manageable size from our perspective – offers more time for one-on-one conversations.
